Asiyanbi — The return of Tí Olúwa Nílé on stage.

Veteran Nigerian actor Baba Wande, known for his role in the iconic Yoruba movie ‘Ti Oluwa Ni Ile,’ is gearing up to revive the tale on stage in a new rendition titled ‘Asiyanbi: Ti Oluwa Nile.’ This promises to be one of the blockbuster movies of 2024.

“This project holds immense historical significance,” Baba Wande remarked. “While I’m the custodian of the story, I’m deeply honored to be part of this endeavor. To the best of my knowledge and experience, this marks a first in our country—a film adaptation reincarnated into a stage play. Such a transformation is unprecedented in our domain.”

Backed by international cultural organizations Aroogba Groove, ‘Asiyanbi: Ti Oluwa Nile’ boasts a stellar cast, including the talented Aisha Lawal, alongside esteemed actors Baba Kamo, Dele Omo Woli, Mummy G.O, Baba Alariya, Ozain, Iya Mufu, Layi Wasabi Lawyer, Yaw, Agba Inaki, and Jude Chukwuka.

Under the stewardship of executive producer Dotun Taylor, the project ensures the preservation of the original movie’s essence and cultural significance while infusing it with a fresh perspective for the stage. The new production is helmed by director Ropo Ewenla and penned by Shola Balogun.
